Sandra Budesheim, born in 1983, grew up in Berlin where she completed her school career after an exchange semester at the Humboldt school in Costa Rica in 2001. During subsequent stays abroad in Latin America she completed internships in the documentary and reporting fields as well as voluntary work with numerous NGOs in the social sector.
In 2007 she completed her bachelor studies in 'Digital Filmmaking' at the SAE Institute Berlin which she graduated on the emphasis on 'Human Rights Film'. Parallel to this she successfully finished her directing studies at the Filmarche Berlin. Since then she concentrates especially on documentary films in her work and realizes together with her Co-Director, Sabine Zimmer, documentaries for TV channels like ZDF, ARTE, WDR.
Meanwhile Sandra commutes between Berlin and Barcelona, where she works besides her own projects as assistant director and in the production department. Since 2014 she is part of the team of the Production Company „Image Laundry s.l.“ in Barcelona, where she was working amongst others for the realization of the audiovisual media for the German pavillon at the World EXPO 2015 in Milano.
